TKT Teething Accessories: Seafood. My husband doesn't like any seafood and I love it all. He takes me to Red Lobster on my birthday every year and I go hard.🙈😂
CS: What's your favourite vacation spot? Why?
TKT: Niagara Falls will always be my favorite. My husband proposed while we were on the Maid of the Mist. I really need to see it from the Canadian side though! I've heard it is way better.
CS: Tell us a bit about yourself and your family.
TKT: I am a stay at home momma and love every second of it. My oldest is 5 and his name is Trip. He just started kindergarten and he loves it. My middle child is our angel baby. His name is Killian and he looked just like his big brother. My youngest is Matilda! We call her Tillie for short. She will somehow be 1 already next month. I have a Yorkie mix named Gillbralter and 2 cats named Khajiit (ka-jeet) and Lacey.
CS: Describe your creative style.
TKT: I don't know how to describe my creative style. Sometimes I feel like I am the least creative person in the world and others I impress myself.😂 I really love working with people to come up with the perfect custom order though.
CS: How did you get into crafting?
TKT: I started crafting when my mother-in-law taught me how to crochet. It was my first BIG crafting passion. My biggest accomplishment was being able to freehand a stuffed lamb and write the pattern. I love crocheting everything..except mittens. They are the devil. I started seeing stuff about teething items and had the huge urge to try it. I was hooked instantly.
CS: What was the first thing you ever made?
TKT: The first thing I ever made was a teether ring toy with Tillie on it and a wood ring!
CS: What project/product are you most proud of?
TKT: I am the most proud of my loop toy. I love how versatile it is. One end is basically a teething ring but the other has a loop so it can be attached to a pacifier or any teether. It is just so perfect for little hands to hold onto.
CS: What does your current work space look like?
TKT: Right now I don't have a specific workspace. I craft at my coffee table in the living room while watching The Office and drinking coffee. The goal is to be able to have my own crafting space whenever we get a new house. I would love to be able to close the door and not have to worry about packing up everything so my kids can't get it!
CS: What does your dream work space look like?
TKT: I want a room specifically for my crafting. I want one wall to just be shelves and shelves of yarn. Of course it would need to be sorted by color and yarn type. Next to that I would need a big comfy chair to crochet in and a TV. Then I would love to have a big desk for me to craft on. One wall would be covered in Akro-Mils storage with all bead colors and sizes readily available. A peg wall to store all of my finished product and teethers would be perfect.
CS: How do you balance work and home life?
TKT: I'm a stay at home mom so all of my work is done when my kids are asleep. Thankfully they are both in bed by 8:30 so that gives me plenty of time!
CS: Where do you see your business going in the next five years?
TKT: I am actually about to be selling in a second storefront! I would love to get a website made up and be able to grow my online presence!
CS: What advice would you give to someone looking to start their own small business?
TKT: Don't give up. When I first started out I was SO overwhelmed. I cried. I told my husband it was a terrible idea and I shouldn't have done it. I thought I wasted money on business cards, packaging supplies, and everything else needed. Thankfully he is amazing and just kept pushing me. I am so happy with where I'm at right now and can't wait to keep growing.
CS: What do you love most about Chomp?
TKT: The community. Seriously. It is so truly amazing to see so many crafters come together to help each other. With no hesitation either. Someone asks a question and there are at least 5-10 people that usually do all they can to help answer.
CS: What would you like to see Chomp carry in the future?
TKT: I have 3 all time favorite animals. Peacocks, narwhals, and beluga whales. You don't even want to know how excited I would be to have teethers of them.😂
