Chomp Supply: What's your favourite food? Why?
Anna Banana Chewelry: Tacos! They can be made so many ways so they’re never boring! From breakfast to desert I could eat tacos everyday!
CS: What's your favourite vacation spot? Why?
ABC: I love the beach. I love the sunshine and the sound of the waves.
CS: Tell us a bit about yourself and your family.
ABC: I am a stay at home mom of 2 children; Kal’el and Kara. Kal’el is 4 and Kara is 1. My son, Kal’el, has recently started playing sports and I love it! It’s so exciting being that mom that has to make a calendar to remember all the games and practices and watching him have fun and make new friends is priceless. My daughter, Kara, is my wild child and she keeps us smiling and laughing all day. Between my babies an downing my own business I really feel like all my dreams I had as a little girl are coming true.
CS: Describe your creative style.
ABC: I love bright and colorful styles that make you smile as soon as you look at them.
CS: How did you get into crafting?
ABC: I’ve always loved crafting. I took every home-economics class I could in high school and loved making things with my hands. Having a business where I’m able to design my own items was very fitting for my personality.
CS: What was the first thing you ever made?
ABC: The first thing I made related to my business was a carrier clip for my daughter on the way to the aquarium one weekend when she was only a few months old.
CS: What project/product are you most proud of?
ABC: Right now I have started many projects but haven’t perfected them all just yet. Right now I’m most proud of my pacifier clips and bubblegum teething necklaces.
CS: What does your current work space look like?
ABC: My current work space is my kitchen table with my babies playing at my feet and music playing in the background.
CS: What does your dream work space look like?
ABC: My dream work space would be an office with lots of space and organization! I dream of it having lots of natural light a dedicated space for product photos and a space for all of my inventory that is not bins inside a linen closet.
CS: How do you balance work and home life?
ABC: I keep caught up with shop life when my kids are playing during the day; a few mins here and there so I’m not taking too much time from them. I also work on bigger projects while they sleep if I need to. On Sundays I turn my messages off and spend that day with my family.
CS: Where do you see your business going in the next five years?
ABC: I have so many big dreams for my business! My overall “big dream” is to have a storefront and sell all things trendy and modern for babies and mommas.
CS: What advice would you give to someone looking to start their own small business?
ABC: Advice I would give to someone looking to start their own business is to go for it! It’s hard and sometimes things get discouraging, but at the end of the day I very much enjoy what I do and everyone deserves to find a job that makes them happy.
CS: What do you love most about Chomp?
ABC: The thing I love most about Chomp is the support! The community is awesome and the members really pick you up when you’re feeling down about a drop that didn’t go as well as you hoped for or when you’re stuck and need new, fresh ideas.
CS: What would you like to see Chomp carry in the future?
ABC: I would love to see Chomp carry silicone bibs! It’s not teething related but I would love to have the option to buy some for my shop from Chomp.
